Red-veined nerve plant · Fittonia albivenis
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses per ASPCA (dedicated Nerve Plant listing).
Soil was almost completely dry, just slightly damp at the bottom. Watered thoroughly all around until water ran out of the drainage holes, let sit in bowl for ~40 minutes, then drained completely and returned to spot. Looking good overall. Leaves damaged from the store are still showing, considering pruning them.
Taken out of ziplock. Now misted multiple times a day with distilled water + pebble tray for ambient humidity.
Watering on finger-test method (water when top inch dry, layer below still slightly damp).
Repotted into fern mix. Fainted (dramatic wilt) from the disruption – classic Fittonia stress response.
Placed in a humid ziplock bag for ~1 day to recover. Came back fine after the humid recovery period.
Acquired alongside Haworthia "Greg". Kept in original pot while settling.
