Watering – soil almost dry
Observed: soil almost dry.
Done: full bottom soak with distilled water, followed by a pipette top-up between the leaves to ensure even coverage.
Repotted into face cachepot
Repotted: Into a 12x8cm plastic liner inside a ceramic face cachepot. Mix: 2 parts Pothos mix : 1 pine bark 5–15mm : 1 pumice 3–7mm, same as Golden Pothos and Philodendron Brasil.
Watered: Watered thoroughly right after potting to settle the mix, then let drain fully – unlike Stan, this species wants evenly moist soil and doesn't need a dry-in period.
Ernie arrives
Observed: healthy and bushy, still in the original 12cm plastic pot from Hornbach. This is the Pilea mollis ‘Moon Valley’ from the wishlist, now acquired – status moved to active and named Ernie.
Done: plant record updated – pot, watering cue, and toxicity notes filled in. Staying in the nursery pot for now to settle before repotting.
Next: repot in a couple of weeks into 3 parts Gardners cactus substrate : 1 part pumice 3–7mm : 1 part pine bark 5–15mm (~25% aggregate), a richer and more moisture-retentive mix than the succulent blends.
