Observed: significant strings have completely dried following the repot.

Watered: off schedule in response, soil bone dry beforehand. Still in recovering care stage – no fertilizer.

Observed: Several beads drying up and substrate dry long enough to callus – watered 5 days after the repot rather than the planned 7, going by the plant's cue rather than the calendar.

Done: Bottom soak with full drain, followed by a few drops from a pipette on the top grit (avoiding the crown), since the gritty repot mix's capillary action may not wet the surface layer on its own. No willow water this time.

Next: One early watering right after a repot isn't a trend on its own – leaving wateringIntervalDays at 14 for now and watching the next couple of cycles before revising.

Repotted: Into 7cm terracotta. Final mix: 7 parts Gardners cactus substrate, 5 pumice, 3 lava, 3 zeolite, 2 keramzit (20 parts total) – swapped the planned biochar for 1 extra part zeolite + 2 parts keramzit, no charcoal on hand beyond what’s in a succulent mix product. Dry pot, no watering yet.

Next: Hold off watering ~7 days to let roots settle, per the same interval used for Pippin post-potting. First watering with willow water.

Mix planned: Researched ahead of repot. Senecio rowleyanus has thin, shallow, rot-prone roots – grower consensus wants a mix that drains almost immediately, grittier than what Glen (same genus) needs. Erring toward the dry end given Prague winter heating.

• 35% Gardners cactus substrate
• 25% pumice 3–7mm
• 15% lava 3–5mm
• 10% zeolite 1–2.5mm
• 15% horticultural charcoal (fine grade)

New product: horticultural charcoal isn’t in the current substrate inventory. Added for its antibacterial/antifungal effect on thin, rot-prone roots. Available fine-grade from e-bonsai.cz or an aquarium/reptile supplier.

Skipped: pine bark 5–15mm (too coarse for a 6cm root ball) and white quartz grit (unnecessary weight for a small hanging pot).

Acquired: FloraSelf "Senecio Ceropegia Mix" 6cm pot, plastic. Confirmed as Senecio rowleyanus f. variegatus (Variegated String of Pearls) - no second Ceropegia cutting present, just the one plant. Cream and green mottled beads visible throughout. Still in nursery soil, not yet repotted. Named Stan, acquired same day as Ernie.
